Sam Shackleton began working with Laurie ‘Appleblim’ Osborne in 2005 releasing tracks together on their newly created Skull Disco label as well as running the (now defunct) Skull Disco nights in London. His maverick take on big basslines and complex beats doesn’t fit into easy categories, although associated with Dubstep. Shackleton has been carving out his own brand of eclecticism with intricate, snaking percussion, hypnotic melodies, seriously deep bass lines and dubwise sensibilities.
